Rihanna attends amfAR LA Inspiration Gala honoring Tom Ford at Milk Studios in California. It wasn’t an Oscar-contending film being celebrated, it was Tom Ford, the guest of honor at amfAR’s fifth annual Inspiration Gala, a celebration of men’s style. 

Presented with the evening’s Award of Inspiration by Rihanna, Ford was toasted by the likes of amfAR chairman Kenneth Cole and global fundraising chairman Sharon Stone, first for his enduring contributions to menswear, but more important, for his unwavering commitment to fighting the ongoing AIDS crisis.

The Secret Service dogs that tussled with a White House fence jumper, including one dog that was violently kicked by the suspect, are recovering today, officials said.

The canines, named Hurricane and Jordan, were taken to a veterinarian after the attack and treated for minor bruising. Both were cleared to return to duty.

ACCIDENT: MAN CUT IN TWO ON THE RAILWAY TRACKS IN IBADAN

It was a black evening in Ibadan at about 5:30pm on Wednesday 22nd Oct, 2014 when a man met his untimely death on a railway track.

The first leg of the Mavin Concert Tour at Manchester on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 was a success despite the absence of label mates, D’Prince and Korede Bello. No reason has been put forward as to why D’Prince and Korede Bello were absent in Manchester since the tour is supposed to include all mates on the label but all efforts to reach out to the Mavins’ camp for confirmation have been unsuccessful so far. 

Breaking: Fire Outbreak At Muritala Mohammed InternationalAirport.

                                         

There was a fire outbreak at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, This Afternoon .
The fire engulfed the second floor of the airport. However, it was reportedly doused shortly after it started, preventing any serious damage to the building. Sources revealed that the fire which started at the second floor of the terminal in the commercial department of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), occurred as a result of a surge in electricity supply.

NYSC To Receive N500 As Daily Feeding Allowance.

                                         

The Nigerian government has made an announcement that from now on, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members will be receiving N500 as daily feeding allowance.

Director General of the NYSC, Johnson Bamidele Olawumi , made this announcement at a House of Representatives Committee hearing on the N4,000 online registration fee mandated for corps members , Leadership reports. A civil society group launched a ‘Say No Campaign’ to protest the registration fee. It was during the hearing that Olawumi made the announcement about the new feedin allowance.

With every attack by Islamist militants in northern Nigeria, Daniel Ayuba relives a nightmare. Two years ago, attackers planted a bomb near a car wash in Maiduguri. The explosion shattered his leg and left 80% of his body covered in shrapnel. It also flattened cars and motorbikes, and left  an entire neighborhood smoldering. “I looked around me and there was fire burning, houses blown up and dead people,” said Ayuba, the scars still visible on most of his body.

“I kept on crying, crying for someone to come help me, but no one would come.”

Boko Haram abducts 60 women in Adamawa

Despite the purported ceasefire, Sixty women were reportedly abducted by suspected members of the deadly Boko Haram sect at Waga Mangoro and Garta villages, both in Adamawa State during a fresh attack.

Latest News: Rampaging Fulani Gunmen Kill 25 InTaraba

Rampaging Fulani herdsmen have allegedly attacked Sondi village in Wukari local government area of Taraba state killing twenty five people and destroying property worth millions of Naira.
The State Police Command said they have recovered seven bodies in the aftermath of the attacks.

The attack, which took place Sunday morning when residents were preparing to attend church service, came on the heels of a vote of confidence passed on Acting Governor Garba Umar by the state House of Assembly for, among other things, restoring peace in the state National President of the Nigeria Association of Wapan Students (NAWAS), Tsokwa Addanti Ajidiku said the attacks took place at about 8a.m.
